Mexican Food Deals in Denver – 3.28.15

If you’re in the mood for Mexican Food in the near future, you have your choice of plenty of great deals now available on various coupon sites.

My favorite deal currently available is through TravelZoo for LaSandia. This special offer is a $40 dining credit for $20. With two locations in the Denver Metro area (Stapleton & Park Meadows), LaSandia is an upscale restaurant offing great Latin dishes.  My wife & I have eaten their many times and love the food.  Their chips & salsa is addictive as are their Sangrias.  Our favorite items on the menu is the Chicken Zarape & the Chicken Mole Pobalno.

Both Living Social & Groupon have deals running for Antonio’s A Taste of Mexico in Longmont. Living Social has the better of the two, running a $20 restaurant credit for $10 offer. Antonio’s menu features items that are both Mexican & New Mexican themed. Their Indian Fry Bread Tacos really caught my eye.  Antonio’s has a strong rating from many of the online review sites including Google, Yelp, UrbanSpoon &, so expect the food & service to be strong. This looks like a good value.

Living Social also has a 50% off deal for Tapas D’Jerez restaurant in Centennial. The offer gives you a $50 restaurant credit (toward food & non-alcoholic drinks) for $25. Tapas D’Jerez is a spanish tapas place that was named to 5280 magazine’s best new restaurant list upon it’s opening in 2006. The restaurant has a decent overall rating on the popular review sites, boasting a 4-star rating on Google & Urban Spoon and a 3.5 star rating on Yelp & Open Table. From the reviews, the croquetas are a crowd favorite.

Yak & Yeti Restaurant Coupons

Yak & Yeti is a pretty popular dining option in the Arvada, but now the restaurant is expanding into the Denver/Aurora area.  It’s newest location is at 9755 E Hampden Ave in Denver not far from the Kennedy Golf Course (and next to the Starbucks across from the Wal-Mart).

Val-Pak online has a couple of coupons for this newest Yak & Yeti location that you can use through April 9th. The first is a BOGO 50% off when you purchase an entree or buffet. The second coupon gets you a beer and a basket of Naan, which I highly recommend both, for only $5.

While not the best Indian food I’ve had in Denver, Yak & Yeti is pretty solid. Their Chicken Tiki Masala, Saag Paneer & Lamb Korma are all really good options.

But what really sets Yak & Yeti apart from other Denver area Indian restaurants is their beer.  They brew their own beers, which have won various local awards. My favorite is the Chai Milk Stout which is smooth & creamy with a hint of sweetness. For those who like IPAs, my friends have raved about the Himalayan IPA.

Sushi Deals in Denver – 3.27.15

I don’t know if there is a more divisive cuisine in the United States than Sushi.  Some people love it and some won’t go near it. If you are one of the individuals that love sushi, then there are a number of Groupon & Living Social deals floating around this week (as of 3.27.15)

Zo Shusi & Thai in Broomfield has a pair of deals on Groupon, one giving a $15 dining deal for $9 and the other offering $30 in food for $17.  Zo Shusi & Thai has some favorable ratings on Google (4 stars off 38 reviews), (4 stars off 130 reviews) & Yelp (3.5 stars off 77 reviews).

For residents in the Aurora & Stapleton areas, Blue Fin Sushi has a pair of Groupon offers. The first is a $30 dining credit for $17, while the other is $40 worth of food for $23. However, online reviews for Blue Fin Sushi are mixed, as Google, UrbanSpoon & Yelp all report an average rating of 3 stars. Their Nigiri Sushi & Standard Rolls average about $5.50, while their Tempura Rolls are a bit higher, so $30-$40 should be enough for a party of two.

Living Social has a good deal for Japon Sushi, offering $24 worth of sushi for $12. Located in Westminster, Japon Sushi has strong online ratings, boasting an average 4-star rating on Google, UrbanSpoon & Yelp. Most of their individual rolls cost about $4.50, but they have Sushi dinners from $17.99 and special rolls starting at $9.95. In all likelihood, your bill might be more than the $24 credit, but still a good value given the strong ratings.

Living Social also has a deal on Sushi Hai, located in the Highlands. This deal is also a 50% savings, allowing for $40 worth of food for $20.  Sushi Hai has mixed online ratings, with a number of reviewers saying its a little overpriced. Some thought the food was good, while others thought it was just ok, so buyer beware.
