From the reviews, it seems that the coconut flavored rice used in some dishes is a hit, but the nachos were not well received (reviewers said they tasted like store bought chips).

Tafolinos has a big menu and serves breakfast items all day.  The online reviews have been good, with the strongest coming from Google (3.8 rating), TripAdvisor (4 star) & UrbanSpoon (4 star).  Their Yelp score was an average 3 star rating with reviewers complaining about poor service. Their know for their live mariachi band that appears weekend nights during the summer months. Denver Indian Food Restaurant Deals – April 10th

Indian food is a great change of pace for many people looking to add some spice to their dining routine.  The great spices and flavors of Indian cuisine are highly appealing to many people. The Denver area is home of many great Indian Restaurants and there are some great deals currently available.

Denver Indian Food Restaurant DealsGroupon has a 50% off deal for Little India on 425 Teller St in Lakewood. The deal is good for 3 $10 lunch vouchers to spend at the restaurant for $15. Little India has a good online reviews, with a 3.5 star rating on Yelp & a 4-star rating on Google & TripAdvisor. Some on the entrees recommended online include the Chicken Tikka Masala & the Lamb Korma.  Individual dishes at Little India run about $15, so the Groupon lunch deal won’t cover this, but it should cover a lunch buffet, which has strong reviews.

For residents in Aurora, Groupon has an offer for Taz Indian Restaurant near Hampden & Alameda. Taz Indian Restaurant currently has a 4-star review on both Yelp & Google.  Groupon currently has a deal that will get you $25 to spend at the restaurant for $16.at  There is also a $30 for $20 offer for Taz on Yelp.
Indias-Best-Restaurant-LittletonGroupon & Yelp also have a deal for India’s Best Restaurant & Bar located in Littleton on 1500 W Littleton Blvd.  Reviews for India’s Best are good (4 stars on both Yelp & Google), but the reviews made since October of last year have been mixed. If you’re wanting to try India’s best, then you can get a $25 credit for $16 on Groupon, or a $20 credit for $10 on Yelp

One of the best reviewed Indian Restaurants in Boulder is Royal Clay Oven.  It has a 4-star rating on Google, Yelp, TripAdvisor & UrbanSpoon.com.  Now, Living Social is offering a $20 credit to Royal Clay Oven for just $11. The offer is good for dinner only, so the $8.99 lunch buffet will not be covered by this offer. Chicken dishes at Royal Clay Oven run about $12.99, while Lamb dishes run $13.99. The vegetarian options at this Boulder Indian Restaurant are around $10, so while the Living Social offer won’t cover the entire ticket, it should cover most of it.

Denver Lunch Deals Under $25

If you are looking for a place to catch a bite for lunch this week in the Denver area, there are plenty of restaurants with great deals currently available. Here are a few highlights:

Living Social has a deal for a nice little steak bar in the Highlands area called LoHi Steak Bar. The deal will net you a $30 restaurant credit for $15 for lunch. I’ve been to this place for dinner and the food was pretty good, although a bit pricey. With a $15 for $30 offer, you should have a good experience. Most of the online review sites have LoHi Steak Bar rated around a 3.8 (out of 5) and I would agree.

Groupon has a lunch deal for Buckhorn Exchange that will net you $25 to spend at lunch for $15. Buckhorn Exchange is a Denver landmark, as the building was a saloon originally founded in 1893.  Inside, you’ll be greeted by taxidermy head of various wild animals, which could be a little off-setting to some.  While their dinner menu features a ton of wild game, the lunch menu is more conservative with burgers, sandwiches & salads as the primary options.

If you’re in the mood for a sub at lunch, Groupon also has a deal for Planet Sub near 14th & California in Downtown Denver. The offer will get you $25 to spend at the restaurant for $15.  $25 should be plenty to get two of their tasty subs, so make sure to bring a friend.  I’ve had the “Dagwood’s Dream” there and it was very good. I’ve also wanted to try “the experience” as well.

Denver Donut Deals – 4.3.15

Donuts are one of my favorite breakfast foods, even though they’re not great for you health wise. But those sugary sweet fried dough is so tempting.  If you’re in the mood for Homer Simpson’s favorite food

There are a few coupons & Groupons floating around for Winchell’s Donuts.  Each are for various Winchell’s locations in the metro area. MoneyMailer.com has three coupons for the Winchell’s Donuts in Platt Park at 1301 S. Boardway in Denver.  The best coupon (at least to me) is the buy one, get one free donut offer for this location. There is also a free coffee or soft drink with purchase of a breakfast sandwich coupon, in addition to a $8.99 dozen donut deal. These coupons are good through April 10th.

Groupon also has a Winchell’s Donuts offer for the 15195 E Hampden Ave location in Aurora. This offer gets you a dozen donuts for $8.50, a savings of 45% off the normal price of $15.49.  You can also purchase other options for three dozen or 5 dozen as well.

If you live in the Louisville, CO area, then MoneyMailer.com has four coupons for the Lamar’s Donuts location on 133 McCaslin Blvd. The best of the bunch is a free donut coupon with any purchase. There is also a $3 off coupon for any dozen donuts or order over $9 or a $1.99 deal for a cup of coffee & donut deal. These coupons are good through April 10th.

Pizza Deals in Denver – 3.31.15

Pizza is one of those universal foods that almost everyone likes. When Pizza is good, its really good, but when its bad, well…it’s still pretty good. If you’re craving pizza, there are plenty of offers available now through Groupon & Living Social.

Living Social has a decent deal going for Basil Doc’s pizza, netting you $30 to spend for just $18. This offer is good for three locations, two on Holly Street and one on East Virginia Avenue in Denver.  Basil Doc’s is on the pricier side (a large specialty is $27), so the Groupon should cover a large or a couple of small pizzas. I’ve had their Santa Fe White pizza and it was pretty good.  I’ve had better white pizzas in the area, but I would say it was worth the $18 deal.

Living Social is also running a special offer for Mici Handcrafted Italian, which includes Two Salads, 10-Inch Pizzas, Small Gelatos & a Bottle of Wine for $35.  Mici Handcrafted Italian is well reviewed online, with a 4.2 rating on Google & a 4-star rating in Yelp.

Groupon has a deal for Sexy Pizza, with three locations across Denver including Capitol Hill, Pearl Street & Jefferson Park.  The deal is for a $25 restaurant credit for $17.  An 18″ large specialty pizza runs about $20, so the Groupon should cover it. Sexy Pizza currently has some good reviews online, with a 3.8 rating in Google & a 4 star rating on UrbanSpoon.  Yelp reviewer haven’t been as kind.

TravelZoo has a dinner for two offer from Pasquini’s on South Broadway in Denver for $29.  This deal includes a shared appetizer, two entrees & two desserts (doesn’t look to include drinks).  Pasquini’s has a three star rating online, and having eaten their, I tend to agree. It’s decent, and this deal looks to be a good value.

Mexican Food Deals in Denver – 3.28.15

If you’re in the mood for Mexican Food in the near future, you have your choice of plenty of great deals now available on various coupon sites.

My favorite deal currently available is through TravelZoo for LaSandia. This special offer is a $40 dining credit for $20. With two locations in the Denver Metro area (Stapleton & Park Meadows), LaSandia is an upscale restaurant offing great Latin dishes.  My wife & I have eaten their many times and love the food.  Their chips & salsa is addictive as are their Sangrias.  Our favorite items on the menu is the Chicken Zarape & the Chicken Mole Pobalno.

Both Living Social & Groupon have deals running for Antonio’s A Taste of Mexico in Longmont. Living Social has the better of the two, running a $20 restaurant credit for $10 offer. Antonio’s menu features items that are both Mexican & New Mexican themed. Their Indian Fry Bread Tacos really caught my eye.  Antonio’s has a strong rating from many of the online review sites including Google, Yelp, UrbanSpoon & OpenTable.com, so expect the food & service to be strong. This looks like a good value.

Living Social also has a 50% off deal for Tapas D’Jerez restaurant in Centennial. The offer gives you a $50 restaurant credit (toward food & non-alcoholic drinks) for $25. Tapas D’Jerez is a spanish tapas place that was named to 5280 magazine’s best new restaurant list upon it’s opening in 2006. The restaurant has a decent overall rating on the popular review sites, boasting a 4-star rating on Google & Urban Spoon and a 3.5 star rating on Yelp & Open Table. From the reviews, the croquetas are a crowd favorite.

Yak & Yeti Restaurant Coupons

Yak & Yeti is a pretty popular dining option in the Arvada, but now the restaurant is expanding into the Denver/Aurora area.  It’s newest location is at 9755 E Hampden Ave in Denver not far from the Kennedy Golf Course (and next to the Starbucks across from the Wal-Mart).

Val-Pak online has a couple of coupons for this newest Yak & Yeti location that you can use through April 9th. The first is a BOGO 50% off when you purchase an entree or buffet. The second coupon gets you a beer and a basket of Naan, which I highly recommend both, for only $5.

While not the best Indian food I’ve had in Denver, Yak & Yeti is pretty solid. Their Chicken Tiki Masala, Saag Paneer & Lamb Korma are all really good options.

But what really sets Yak & Yeti apart from other Denver area Indian restaurants is their beer.  They brew their own beers, which have won various local awards. My favorite is the Chai Milk Stout which is smooth & creamy with a hint of sweetness. For those who like IPAs, my friends have raved about the Himalayan IPA.

Sushi Deals in Denver – 3.27.15

I don’t know if there is a more divisive cuisine in the United States than Sushi.  Some people love it and some won’t go near it. If you are one of the individuals that love sushi, then there are a number of Groupon & Living Social deals floating around this week (as of 3.27.15)

Zo Shusi & Thai in Broomfield has a pair of deals on Groupon, one giving a $15 dining deal for $9 and the other offering $30 in food for $17.  Zo Shusi & Thai has some favorable ratings on Google (4 stars off 38 reviews), UrbanSpoon.com (4 stars off 130 reviews) & Yelp (3.5 stars off 77 reviews).

For residents in the Aurora & Stapleton areas, Blue Fin Sushi has a pair of Groupon offers. The first is a $30 dining credit for $17, while the other is $40 worth of food for $23. However, online reviews for Blue Fin Sushi are mixed, as Google, UrbanSpoon & Yelp all report an average rating of 3 stars. Their Nigiri Sushi & Standard Rolls average about $5.50, while their Tempura Rolls are a bit higher, so $30-$40 should be enough for a party of two.

Living Social has a good deal for Japon Sushi, offering $24 worth of sushi for $12. Located in Westminster, Japon Sushi has strong online ratings, boasting an average 4-star rating on Google, UrbanSpoon & Yelp. Most of their individual rolls cost about $4.50, but they have Sushi dinners from $17.99 and special rolls starting at $9.95. In all likelihood, your bill might be more than the $24 credit, but still a good value given the strong ratings.

Living Social also has a deal on Sushi Hai, located in the Highlands. This deal is also a 50% savings, allowing for $40 worth of food for $20.  Sushi Hai has mixed online ratings, with a number of reviewers saying its a little overpriced. Some thought the food was good, while others thought it was just ok, so buyer beware.
